Why do people party on Memorial Day instead of visiting the Memorial cemetary?

People don't visit the cemetary b/c you cant drink or barbeque in the cemetary. Also, it's the begining of summer - a good reason to celebrate - and adults get a day off AND a 3-day weekend. Pretty good reasons to celebrate. Maybe the cemetary would be more popular if it offered free drinks and burgers.
